Outcomes from the public consultation on the proposed changes to the recommended use of meningococcal and Haemophilus influenzae type B vaccines in The Australian Immunisation Handbook
Description:

Public consultation on the proposed changes to the recommended use of meningococcal and Haemophilus influenzae type B vaccines in The Australian Immunisation Handbook was conducted over a four-week period from 06 April 2018 to 06 May 2018, during which time the proposed changes were available on the Citizen Space website. The Department of Health invited a range of stakeholders, committees, working groups and interested people to provide submissions.

Following public consultation, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation made a submission to the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), seeking its approval of the proposed changes to the recommended use of meningococcal and Haemophilus influenzae type B  vaccines in The Australian Immunisation Handbook. This submission was approved by NHMRC in July 2018.

The following  documents are available here:

  • The public consultation document with the drafted recommendations and rationale for the changes which were released as part of this public consultation.
  • A report outlining the public consultation comments received for the revised meningococcal and Haemophilus influenzae type B  recommendations and how they were addressed in the final report.
  • The approved submission to the NHMRC on proposed amendments to the recommended use of HPV vaccines in the Australian Immunisation Handbook.
